About Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu House

Located at 3848 McHenry Ave #205, Modesto, CA 95356, Hawaii Pot Shabu Shabu House operates as a hot pot serving Modesto in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Modesto; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (209) 353-3999. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, hawaiipotshabushabuhouse.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 218 reviews, which is a strong result for a hot pot in Modesto and suggests consistent service.

Modesto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Modesto follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place is AMAZING. It’s all you can eat and there are a variety of different meats, sauces, vegetables you can choose from to create your own HOT POT. We had the pork belly and ribeye beef. All of the ingredients were so fresh and all looked very appetizing. They also have a variety of seafood you can add as well. They offer a small salad bar with fresh fruit and a scoop of ice cream all included with buffet purchase. This place is definitely worth your time and money and also super entertaining with the train that drives by to bring your food! Highly recommend to anyone looking for something unique and exciting to have dinner!!

This is my families new favorite restaurant! A friend from work recommended it. The food is fresh and delicious!😋 The staff is always friendly and very helpful to hot pot beginners. My favorite broth is the Tom yum, My husband and son love the spicy miso broth. I can't pick a favorite item from the conveyor belt, there's far too many delicious things to choose from. We live in Tracy and this restaurant, staff, and fun experience is definitely worth the 2 hours of driving.

We make the drive up from fresno to enjoy this style of hot pot. There is plenty of variety between meat and veggies and ramen and everything in between. We've always been seated quickly with our individual pots of broth ready for the yummy editions. Keep doing what you're doing. I can't wait to come back again

I love this restaurant! I have eaten and quite a few hot pot places in North California. And this might be my favorite. My husband and I found this place online last week. And in less than two weeks we have eaten here three times. Every morning I wake up craving it. I love the Spicy Miso. The place also has hmm I’m not sure what to call it, the extra seasoning place with garlic, chilli oil, green onions and 10 other things that can be added to the soup. The soup is fantastic. My husband and I have tried the Spicy Miso, Hawaiian Curry, and Hot & Spicy soup. My personal favorite is the Spicy Miso. The place has great meat! I love the lamb! It also has a belt with food continuously rotating. Everything is so fresh and yummy. My favorites are: tofu skin, egg noodles, beef balls, bok choy, lamb, mushrooms, eggs, and spam. For $24.99 for lunch, this is so good! All you can eat! Comes with ice cream at the end. Can’t wait to come back!

Overall, this spot was pretty good—I’d rate it a solid 4 out of 5. The quality of the meat was impressive, and the soup base had a really nice flavor that brought everything together. I liked that the soup bar had a good variety to choose from, which added some fun to the experience. That said, the salad bar felt a bit underwhelming—definitely could use more options. One thing I noticed was that the conveyor belt items weren’t restocked very quickly. At one point, the only things going around were broccoli and noodles, which was a bit of a letdown when you’re ready to grab something more substantial. It eventually picked back up, but the wait felt a little long. Service-wise, the staff was friendly, but I think they might need a few more people up front. There were only three servers trying to handle everything, and with a growing crowd, it looked like they were struggling to keep up a bit. Overall, I’d come back—just hoping they continue to improve as they settle in and get more support for busier times.
